City of Sylvania

Sylvania is located in east central Georgia, 55 miles southeast of Augusta and 58 miles northwest of Savannah. Sylvania is 75 miles from Tybee Island off the coast of Savannah and 80 miles from Hilton Head, SC.

Atlanta is 210 miles northwest of Sylvania and Jacksonville is 185 miles south. Historic U.S. Hwy. 301, once the major route from Sarasota, FL, to Baltimore. MD, is the main highway through Sylvania. Interstate 95 is the closest interstate highway and 50 miles from the city center.

town of Rocky ford

The Town of Rocky Ford is one-half mile north of the Ogeechee River and is located on a main railroad line. Many years ago Rocky Ford was the county seat before it moved to Sylvania. The town is located just off State Route 17, 19 miles from Statesboro and 22 miles from Sylvania.

City of Oliver

The City of Oliver is located in the southern end of the county, four miles southwest of Newington and will likely feel the pressure of growth from Savannah sooner than the rest of the county. The City of Oliver is located on State Routes 17 and 24 approximately 20 miles from Statesboro.

Town of Newington

The Town of Newington is located in the southern end of the county, four miles northeast of the City of Oliver. The Town of Newington is located on State Routes 21 and 24 and is approximately 23 miles from Statesboro.

City of hiltonia

The Town of Hiltonia is a family-oriented place with a park and three churches. It is the northern most municipality in the county, located on State Route 24 approximately 10 miles north of Sylvania, and 61 miles southeast of Augusta.
